(Apr 2) A view of the Wekiva River on the west side of Sanford, Florida near Orlando. Taken from my kayak.
If you look, there are two paths you can take from this view up the river. To the right or to the left around the small island through all the lily pads, cat tails and other stuff that grows in the Florida waters.
(Mar 31) Not really Alabama, but Alabama Drive in Winter Park, Florida. The bird park as we call it, for the 100's of birds that come every year to have their young high up in the trees. Right along Lake Maitland.
The bird is watching over the river and the nest. Perhaps looking down at the water for prey.
Shot this with 200mm that I borrowed via my grandfather that is his old canon lens for his film decades old camera. The auto focus is lack luster and it only semi talks with my dslr. Time to upgrade to new lens perhaps. Manual focus from kayak=garbage.
The Fall can Kill
Nature can be very cruel. This bird is n the gutter was right below a nest. Did he/she fall? Did a sibling knock him/her from the nest? Who knows but it was interesting to see as it was a fresh death as the Florida sun and bugs had not gotten to this poor soul yet.
