A falls near Georgetown, Ohio. Located on a pretty small creek that most likely empties out within hours after a rain. Topo map shows it as not a true body of water and most likely spends the summer months completely dry.

Stafford Creek Falls
We came apun this nice little surprise while paddling on the Little Sandy River near Newfoundland, KY. You could kayak underneath it to cool off. About 36' tall as well and is the culmination of Stafford Creek into the Little Sandy River.Kentuckycliffcliffsfallsgrayson lakekayakkayakinglittle sandy rivernewfoundlandpaddlepaddlerswaterwaterfall
Newfoundland Falls
This is a falls that was down a small path in the water that first required the limbo in your kayak under a downed tree. Then you had to abandon ship in waist deep water. Then you had to rock scramble criss crossing the creek through stinging nettles and a forest of posion ivy and an almost swim in chest deep water to make it to the base of this falls. Then 2 of us climbed up to this vantage point to get a view of the falls and the upper part as well by scalling up the loose rocks that had fallen from the rock ledge that was now above your head 50' or so. Worth ever bit of that to see them. Truly a hidden falls that not many have laid eyes on. I simply decided to label/name them Newfoundland Falls for the unnammed creek that starts just north in the blink of an eye town of Newfoundland, KY. This falls is located in quite a large gorge of its own. They measure a 9' drop on top to a 4' drop and then a 42' drop for the main falls.
In the end I ended up with a gash on my elbow and scrapped up my leg pretty good when it got caught in a slipping rock. Stinging nettle went away after an hour (must not affect me really), and by a miracle from God I got no poison ivy after crawling through it on my hands and knees to get up an embankment.Kentuckycliffcliffsfallsgrayson lakekayakkayakinglittle sandy rivernewfoundlandpaddlepaddlerswaterwaterfall
Far Clifty Falls
This is one of my all time favorite places and obviously falls as well. Hidden away through a partial cave for 70+ feet and opens into this scene. Kayak or swimming are the only true ways to wander back to this one. Covered on all sides by cliffs including another tall seasonal waterfall (behind the camera). It was a delight to eat lunch here.
For height, I based it on comparitive photos I took with kayakers and came up with roughly, 12' for the bottom, 14' of cascades in the back with a 20' falls above that. Magnificent!Kentuckyclifty creekcreekfallsgraysongrayson lakehdrkayakkayakinglakepaddlepaddlingstreamwaterwaterfall
Sam Carroll Branch Falls
This is a tall falls that has been guessed at anywhere from 75-90'. On my one camera I have no pics with kayakers in it to measure. I might have one on my other camera, I will have to check. It is definetly one of the taller, but still flowing nicely falls on Grayson, but my guess is that it is most likely less than both of those numbers. Possibly 45' tall at the short end of the guess. You can kayak under it and cool off. There is usually a sand bar at the bottom right of the photo but the water level was nice and high, making the falls flow as well since recent rains.Kentuckyclifty creekcreekfallsgraysongrayson lakekayakkayakinglakepaddlepaddlingstreamwaterwaterfall
Foggy Dock
We were treated to some nice fog on the lake and around the area on Sunday as we woke up and headed to the lake. It lifted rather quickly but got some shots before it did. I liked this one with the dock as the sun is rising and trying to break through.big gimletcreekfallsfogfoggygraysongrayson lakekayakkayakerslakelittle gimletlittle sandy riverpaddlepaddlingriverstreamwaterwaterfall
Lick Falls
This falls was on my Sunday 11 mile paddle. It goes through a sweet looking gorge of its own before empting out into a huge gorge that has cliffs the size of the left side of the falls all the way around on 3 sides. Lick Falls measures at about 26' tall and shoots out off the cliff. It it the single falls on/near Grayson Lake that I have found a previous name for. Lick Creek is the water source for this falls. It is located in teh State Park and there is a 3 mile hike to get to it, but I find it about impossible that you could view the falls from any cliffs nearby. Only the water.big gimletcreekfallsfogfoggygraysongrayson lakehdrkayakkayakerslakelittle gimletlittle sandy riverpaddlepaddlingriverstreamwaterwaterfall
Confederate Grave
As I was paying my respects to my ancestors and heading to my great great great grandfathers grave whom was in the Union Army, I saw this grave and the flag that was left in respect for his service. Caught my eye and thought I'd take a picture. Amazing how neighbors, friends, fellow Kentuckians and sometimes family, fought against each other in America's deadly war.Kentuckyarmybracken countycemeterycivil warconfederatecountryflaggravestonehdrheadstonelenoxburgwarwillow

Sheer Size
Gives you a glimpse at the sheer size of Grayson Lake's cliffs and trees. These cliffs here are average for the area with many cliffs being twice if not even taller than these. Little Miami Covered
This is a covered bridge that goes over the Little Miami River north of Fort Ancient in Ohio. It had to be repaired after a dump truck went over it and essentially went through the foor joints and destroyed it. I am not entirely sure what left is original and such since they repaired it after that terrible event.Little MiamiOhiohdrkayakkayakerslittle miami rivermorganspaddlepaddlersrivertri state kayakerswater
